LTE-Advanced Cat-12 mobile router with SpeedFusion, Wi-Fi, and EN 50155 rolling stock certification

The same compact router, with significantly more 4G headroom

The MAX BR1 Mini LTEA shares the form factor and feature set of the BR1 Mini but steps up the cellular modem to LTE-Advanced Cat-12. That nearly doubles the maximum downlink: 600 Mbps theoretical DL on Cat-12 versus 300 Mbps on the standard Cat-6 BR1 Mini. In practice that's the difference between a saturated link and one with comfortable headroom for video uplink, large file transfer, or busy multi-user pop-up networks. The 4x4 cellular MIMO design and carrier aggregation across multiple bands also means significantly better real-world throughput in marginal-coverage sites.

Everything else stays identical to the BR1 Mini LTE: 125 x 107 x 35 mm, 430 grams, 9-30V DC input, EN 50155 and EN 61373 certified, single GbE WAN/LAN, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, dual SIM, SpeedFusion engine. 1-year PrimeCare bundled.

Where it fits

This is the right choice when 4G LTE is the cellular tier that makes sense (good UK and EU coverage, 5G not justified or not deployed locally) but the standard Cat-6 modem on the regular BR1 Mini won't cut it. Real-world cases where Cat-12 earns the upgrade: broadcast support cars uplinking video over cellular, fleet vehicles running multiple cloud-connected applications simultaneously, pop-up event sites with 50+ users on a single SIM, retail digital signage networks with rich media payloads.

For fleet and remote sites where 100-150 Mbps DL is sufficient, the standard BR1 Mini LTE is more cost-effective. For sites needing 5G NR, look at the BR1 Mini 5G or BR1 Pro 5G.

FAQ

What's the practical difference between Cat-6 (BR1 Mini LTE) and Cat-12 (BR1 Mini LTEA)? Cat-6 caps at 300 Mbps DL on a single carrier. Cat-12 supports up to 3 carrier aggregation with 600 Mbps DL. In good UK 4G coverage, Cat-12 routinely measures 200-400 Mbps DL where Cat-6 measures 80-150 Mbps. For lighter telemetry and management traffic the difference is invisible; for video, file transfer, or busy multi-user sites, it's meaningful.

Does the LTEA variant cover the same bands as the LTE variant? Yes plus more. The Cat-12 modem covers all major UK and EU LTE bands (B1, B3, B7, B8, B20, B28, B32, B38, B40, B41) and supports carrier aggregation combinations the Cat-6 doesn't.

Can it bond cellular plus Ethernet WAN? Yes. SpeedFusion bonds the cellular link with Ethernet WAN or Wi-Fi as WAN. With higher cellular bandwidth available, the bonded throughput rises proportionally.

What's the difference in package contents vs BR1 Mini LTE? The LTEA variant ships with 4 cellular antennas (4x4 MIMO) versus 2 on the standard LTE variant. Otherwise identical.

What's PrimeCare? A 1-year PrimeCare subscription is bundled. It unlocks SpeedFusion peers, warranty extension, InControl 2 cloud management, and firmware support. Renewals available as 1, 2, or 4-year extensions.
