Compact LTE cellular modem with USB-C, eSIM and 1GB data plan included
The Peplink MAX Adapter is the simplest way to add cellular connectivity to anything that wants an Ethernet or USB-C uplink. Embedded CAT-4 LTE modem, 2x Gigabit Ethernet, 1x USB-C (LAN, GPIO, ignition sensing, or power), and a metal vent-less case rated -30 to +65°C. Ships with 1 GB of Peplink's eSIM data plan pre-loaded so it's online the moment you plug it in. Compact enough to clip into a dashboard, mount in a server rack, or run from a power bank in a backpack.
What it's actually for
Three core use cases. First: cellular failover for non-cellular routers and home gateways. Plug the Adapter's Ethernet output into a Balance, B One, B One Plus, or any third-party router as a backup WAN. The Adapter handles the cellular link, the router handles the failover logic. Second: standalone cellular for IoT and remote equipment. Plug it into the device's Ethernet, give the device a SIM, walk away. Third: in-vehicle deployments where you need cellular but don't want a full mobile router. The 9-36V DC input handles vehicle power directly, the USB-C alternative input runs from a power bank or USB-C laptop charger for portable kit.
The 1 GB eSIM data plan is unlocked at first boot through InControl 2 (Peplink Global Single Device plan, valid 6 months). Add more eSIM data through the same console, drop in a physical SIM, or BYO eSIM with your own provider. Flexibility is the whole point.

Where it fits
The MAX Adapter is the right call for SOHO routers needing LTE failover without buying a new main router, for unmanned IoT or telemetry kit needing a managed cellular link, for vehicle dashcam and fleet monitoring add-ons, for engineer kit bags as a portable hotspot replacement that's actually managed by InControl 2. We've shipped these into 24/7 ATM monitoring, into agricultural sensor networks, into emergency response vehicles as a tertiary cellular path. The wide DC input range (9-36V) is the giveaway: this is hardware designed to be deployed places, not just sit on a desk.

FAQ
What's the difference between the MAX Adapter LTE and the new 5G Adapter? The MAX Adapter LTE (this listing) is CAT-4 4G LTE, smaller, USB-C powered, and substantially less expensive. The 5G Adapter (ADP-5GZ-T-PRM) is a newer, higher-spec product with 5G NR and a larger package. Pick the LTE Adapter for failover, IoT, and low-bandwidth use cases. Pick the 5G Adapter when you need raw cellular throughput as the primary link.
Can I use it as a primary internet source? Yes, for low to moderate bandwidth use (1-60 users on basic web, email, VoIP, light video). For high-bandwidth primary use over cellular, look at a full MAX BR1 Pro 5G or BR2 LTE.
Does it work with non-Peplink routers? Yes. The Ethernet output is a standard WAN connection. Plug it into any router that has a WAN port and the router treats the Adapter as if it were a cable modem.
Can I run it from a USB-C power bank? Yes. The USB-C power input draws low enough current that a standard USB-C 5V/3A power bank will run the Adapter for hours. Useful for kit bags, temporary deployments, and engineering site visits.
Does the included eSIM work in the UK? Yes. The Peplink Global Single Device plan covers the UK and most of EMEA / APAC. After the 1 GB / 6 months runs out, top up through InControl 2 or switch to a physical SIM or BYO eSIM.
Does it support InControl 2? Yes, fully. InControl 2 manages firmware, eSIM provisioning, GPIO and ignition triggers, traffic stats, and remote diagnostics. Free with the Adapter for 1 year (PrimeCare).
