High-gain enclosed IP67 cellular antenna for long-range fixed-mount deployments

The premium Antenna MAX variant for marginal-coverage sites

The Peplink Antenna MAX S is the high-gain variant of the Antenna MAX family. Same IP67 enclosed PoE-powered architecture as the base Antenna MAX, but with cellular elements tuned for higher gain and a tighter beam pattern. The right call for fixed-mount deployments where the cell tower is far away (rural, marine offshore, between mountains) and gain is the bottleneck. SKU ANT-MAX-S.

When to pick MAX S over base MAX

Pick MAX S when:

  • Fixed mount, long range to cell tower. Rural enterprise where the nearest mast is 5+ miles away. The extra cellular gain compensates for path loss.
  • Marine offshore. Commercial vessels operating just within cellular range; offshore wind farm support; coastal monitoring buoys. The MAX S extends usable cellular coverage further from shore.
  • Broadcast contribution from remote sites. Outside-broadcast vehicles operating in valleys or heavily obstructed terrain.
  • Tower-mounted commercial backhaul. ISP-style deployments using cellular as primary backhaul where antenna gain materially affects throughput.

Pick base Antenna MAX when:

  • Coverage is good, you just want enclosed weather protection (most marine and broadcast deployments)
  • Wide beam-pattern matters more than peak gain (mobile applications, pitching vessels)
  • You need integrated Wi-Fi and GPS (the MAX S is cellular only)

Where it fits

Long-range fixed-mount cellular WAN where the antenna gain budget is the limiting factor. Most TTF customers buying Antenna MAX S are running rural enterprise branches, offshore commercial vessels, broadcast contribution from challenging terrain, or commercial backhaul deployments. If your cell tower is line-of-sight and within a few miles, the base Antenna MAX is plenty.

Compatible routers

The MAX S is an enclosure: a supported Peplink router mounts inside it and feeds the built-in 4x cellular, 2x Wi-Fi and GPS elements through short internal RF leads, removing external antenna cable loss. Peplink confirms compatibility with:

  • BR1 Mini Series: BR1 Mini, BR1 Mini Core, BR1 Mini 5G
  • BR1 Pro 5G: including the CAT-20 variant
  • Transit Duo Pro: dual-cellular mobile router

The enclosed router is powered over PoE or DC input; a PoE splitter is required for any router that does not accept PoE In.

Mounting

Ships with an L-mount set for pole, surface or deck mounting. The dedicated MAX S mount (ACW-676) and surface mount kit (ACW-677) are available for fixed-site installs.
