Wi-Fi 6 access point with 2.5G uplink and InControl 2 cloud management
The Peplink AP One AX delivers Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) across simultaneous 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios, both in 4x4 MU-MIMO configuration. With a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet uplink, it removes the bottleneck that crippled most Wi-Fi 5 access points: the moment your AP is faster than your switch port, your throughput stops scaling. Built into the Peplink ecosystem, it inherits centralised management, fast roaming, captive portals, and seamless integration with Balance and MAX routers.
Designed for offices, retail and hospitality
Wi-Fi 6 is 45% faster than Wi-Fi 5, supports four times more concurrent devices, and uses less power on connected client radios. The AP One AX takes full advantage with up to 2400 Mbps on the 5 GHz band and 1148 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, plus 256 concurrent users per radio and 16 SSIDs per radio. The 2.5 Gigabit uplink (instead of the standard 1 GbE most APs ship with) means you can actually deliver that bandwidth to the network rather than capping it at the cable.
Hardware features 802.11k, v, and r for enterprise-grade fast roaming, so users moving across an office, warehouse, or retail floor stay connected without the lag spikes typical of cheaper APs. WPA3-Enterprise and WPA3-Personal are supported alongside legacy WPA/WPA2. The built-in 5 dBi omnidirectional antennas cover both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands without external aerials.

Where it fits
The AP One AX is the right answer for offices and retail environments running Wi-Fi 5 hardware that's choking on dense client counts, especially anywhere with cloud video calls, large file sync, or real-time POS. The 2.5G uplink future-proofs it against the bandwidth ramp coming from Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 adjacent infrastructure. Pair it with a Peplink Balance, B One, or MAX router and InControl 2 manages the entire estate from a single dashboard, including SSIDs, radio settings, captive portals, VLAN tags, and per-client bandwidth control.
For higher-end deployments needing Wi-Fi 7 or tri-band including 6 GHz, look at the AP One Enterprise. For outdoor and IP67 rated installations, the AP Pro AX is the right call.

The 12V DC power adapter is sold separately (ACW-602) or the AP can be powered over Ethernet from a PoE+ injector or switch.
FAQ
Does it need a Peplink router to work? No. The AP One AX runs in standalone mode and is configured directly via web admin. However, to unlock central management across multiple APs and to sync VLANs, captive portals, and authentication with a router, pair it with a Peplink Balance, B One, B One Plus, B One 5G, MAX, or other Peplink router.
Wi-Fi 6 vs Wi-Fi 7? The AP One AX is Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax). For Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), 6 GHz band, and multi-link operation, see the AP One Enterprise. Wi-Fi 6 is the right choice for most current device fleets; Wi-Fi 7 only delivers gains if your client devices also support it.
Can it be powered over Ethernet? Yes. The AP One AX accepts 802.3at PoE+ from a switch or injector, drawing up to 23 W. Use a PoE+ activation kit (ACW-622) if your existing switch is 802.3af PoE only.
Does it work outdoors? The AP One AX is rated for indoor use only (0-40°C). For outdoor deployments use the AP Pro AX (IP67) or AP One Rugged.
How does fast roaming work? The AP supports 802.11k (neighbour reports), 802.11v (BSS transition management), and 802.11r (fast BSS transition). Compatible client devices stay connected as they move between APs without the typical 2-3 second pause. Critical for VoIP and video calls in larger spaces.
