Outdoor IP67 Wi-Fi 6 access point with mesh, PoE+, and rugged enclosure
The outdoor AP we put on rooftops, masts, and vessel decks
The AP Pro AX (HW2) is Peplink's outdoor-rated Wi-Fi 6 access point. IP67 weatherproof enclosure, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) with simultaneous 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios, 2x2 MU-MIMO, MESH support for daisy-chained outdoor coverage, and 802.3at PoE+ for single-cable power and data. The aluminium and polymer enclosure is rated for permanent outdoor exposure with -40 to +65°C operating range and EN 50155 rolling stock certification.
The AP works as a managed AP under any Peplink router with built-in AP controller (B One, Balance series, BR1/BR2 series), or standalone in router or bridge mode. InControl 2 cloud management gives single-pane oversight across multi-site deployments. The MESH support is the differentiator versus simpler outdoor APs: chain multiple AP Pro AX units across a site without running Ethernet to each, with each hop adding coverage rather than degrading throughput.

Where it fits
This is the right call for outdoor Wi-Fi 6 deployment that needs to survive: building exteriors, rooftop coverage, vessel decks, vehicle compounds, construction sites, agricultural facilities, transit hub platforms, marina pontoons. The MESH support extends Wi-Fi coverage across large outdoor areas without running Ethernet to every AP, which often saves more in cabling and labour than the AP itself costs.
For indoor Wi-Fi 6, look at the AP One AX (£369). For Wi-Fi 7 indoor, the AP One Enterprise. For rugged indoor industrial deployments, the AP One Rugged. The AP Pro AX is specifically the outdoor IP67 answer.

What's in the box
- 1 x AP Pro AX outdoor access point
- 1 x mounting bracket pair
- Hardware kit (screws, anchors, hose clamps)
- Quick start guide
PoE+ injector or PoE switch port required (sold separately). Most installs use existing PoE infrastructure.
FAQ
Does it really need to be outdoor-rated? Only if it's exposed to weather. For covered outdoor areas (canopies, sheltered porches, vehicle interiors), an indoor AP is usually sufficient. Pick the AP Pro AX when the AP is on a wall or mast directly exposed to rain, sun, dust, or salt spray.
How does MESH work? Multiple AP Pro AX units can form a wireless mesh on a dedicated 5 GHz radio, with one AP wired to the network and the others extending coverage wirelessly. Configure the mesh in InControl 2 or directly in the AP web admin. Each MESH hop adds coverage; throughput depends on signal quality between hops.
Can it run on 12V DC instead of PoE? Yes. The AP Pro AX accepts both 802.3at PoE+ and 12V DC input. Most installs use PoE for cable simplicity, but 12V DC is an option where PoE infrastructure isn't available.
Does it integrate with Peplink router AP controllers? Yes, fully. Any Peplink router with the built-in AP controller (B One, B One Plus, Balance series, BR1/BR2 series) can manage the AP Pro AX as part of a unified Wi-Fi network with shared SSIDs, security policies, and roaming.
Does it support PoE pass-through? No. The AP Pro AX is a PoE consumer, not a passthrough device. For chained PoE deployments, use a separate PoE+ switch.
