The B One is Peplink's enterprise branch router for small offices, retail back-of-house and home offices that need more than a consumer router can deliver. 1 Gbps routing throughput, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, two Gigabit WAN ports plus USB-C WAN, SpeedFusion VPN bonding, full VLAN and captive portal support. Fanless. 1-year PrimeCare bundled. SKU B-ONE-T-PRM.
Peplink positioning: impressive capability with incredible value. The B One is the successor to the long-running Surf SOHO, repositioned as the entry rung of Peplink's enterprise branch ladder.
What you get
- 1 Gbps routing throughput. Real headroom for a busy small office network on a fibre or Starlink connection.
- Dual-band Wi-Fi 6, 2x2 MIMO. Concurrent 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, up to 16 SSIDs, full VLAN tagging.
- 2x Gigabit Ethernet WAN ports. Load balance, hot failover or SpeedFusion-bond two ISPs into one resilient pipe.
- 4x Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports. For office devices, IP phones, and access points.
- USB-C WAN port. Tether a phone or a USB cellular modem as a third connection. Also delivers 5V at 2A to power Peplink MAX adapters.
- SpeedFusion VPN bonding. 400 Mbps unencrypted, 200 Mbps with 256-bit AES. Site-to-site, X.509 certificate support, dynamic routing.
- Stateful firewall with DoS prevention and web blocking. IPsec, PPTP, L2TP and OpenVPN.
- InControl 2 cloud management. Plus Peplink mobile app, full CLI, SNMP v1/v2c/v3.
- Fanless. Silent operation, no moving parts to fail. Suitable for offices, retail counters, AV racks.
- 1-year PrimeCare included. 5 SpeedFusion peers, hot failover, smoothing, bandwidth bonding, cloud entitlement, warranty.
Built for
Small offices and home offices. Up to 150 users on a single resilient connection. Wi-Fi 6 for the staff network, separate VLAN for guests.
Retail and hospitality. Dual ISP for the till and the back office, captive portal for the guest Wi-Fi, RADIUS authentication for the staff network.
Branch sites. A low-cost beachhead for SpeedFusion-bonded WAN at sub-100-user locations, managed centrally from InControl 2.
Starlink with secondary ISP. Bond Starlink with a fibre or 5G CPE WAN. The B One handles the routing and SpeedFusion logic; the cellular link comes from an external adapter or your ISP's CPE.
The honest take
The B One is Peplink's least-expensive branch router with full SpeedFusion bonding and Wi-Fi 6. That matters: below it (the legacy Balance Two and Surf SOHO range) you lose Wi-Fi 6, peers, or both. Above it, the Balance 310 jumps to multi-gigabit performance and PoE+ at three times the price.
What it isn't. It has no built-in cellular modem. For 5G or LTE backup, look at the B One 5G (same chassis with an embedded X62 modem) or pair this B One with an external MAX 5G adapter on the USB-C WAN port. It's also not ruggedised for vehicle use; the 4-pin DC input has GPIO but no ignition sensing, and the chassis isn't sealed.
If you're sizing a small office where sustained traffic stays well under 1 Gbps and the ISP options are wired plus possibly Starlink, the B One is the right answer. If you need 5G, step up to the B One 5G. If you need 200+ users, multi-gig throughput, or PoE-powered antennas, step up to the Balance 310.

Frequently asked questions
Does the B One have a built-in cellular modem?
No. For 5G or LTE backup, step up to the B One 5G (same chassis with embedded X62 5G modem and dual SIM), or pair the B One with a Peplink MAX 5G Adapter on the USB-C WAN port.
Does PrimeCare come with the router?
Yes. Every B One ships with 12 months of PrimeCare A. PrimeCare unlocks 5 SpeedFusion VPN peers, hot failover, smoothing and bandwidth bonding, plus InControl 2 cloud management. After year one, extend with PRM-A-1Y, PRM-A-2Y or PRM-A-4Y.
Can I use it with Starlink?
Yes. Connect the Starlink router to one Ethernet WAN, and a wired ISP, second Starlink, or cellular CPE to the other. SpeedFusion bonds them. Peplink ship Starlink-specific options in the firmware (Starlink obstruction monitoring, smart failover) so the B One handles flaky satellite WAN gracefully.
How does the USB-C WAN port work?
It accepts a USB tether from an Android phone or a USB cellular modem (Peplink MAX 5G Adapter, or a generic USB dongle). It also supplies 5V at 2A out to power external accessories such as the MAX adapter range.
Does it support inter-VLAN routing and 802.1Q?
Yes. Up to 16 SSIDs each on its own VLAN, full VLAN tagging on LAN with port mapping, and inter-VLAN routing. Captive portal can be applied per SSID for guest segregation.
Is it really fanless?
Yes. Passive cooling, no moving parts, silent operation. Operating range -40 to +45 degC. We have units running 24x7 in network closets and front-of-house environments without intervention.
What real-world throughput should I expect?
1 Gbps router throughput is the headline. SpeedFusion is the realistic limit on bonded VPN traffic: 400 Mbps unencrypted, 200 Mbps with 256-bit AES. Actual results depend on the WAN links you bond, the bonding policy, and the traffic mix. We can model expected throughput for your specific WAN setup if it matters.
