Compact LTE mobile router with SpeedFusion, Wi-Fi, and EN 50155 rolling stock certification

The mobile workhorse we put in fleets and remote sites

The MAX BR1 Mini is the smallest router in the Peplink mobile range, and the one we deploy more than any other. 125 x 107 x 35 mm, 430 grams, with embedded 4G LTE Cat-6 cellular, single Gigabit Ethernet WAN, single Gigabit LAN, and dual-band Wi-Fi 5. The footprint fits in a vehicle dash, behind a CCTV cabinet, or on a digital signage backplate without thinking about space.

Don't let the size mislead you. The BR1 Mini ships with the same SpeedFusion engine as the bigger Peplink boxes, the same InControl 2 cloud management, and the same 1-year PrimeCare bundled. EN 50155 (rolling stock electronic equipment) and EN 61373 (vibration and shock) certification means it goes on trains, buses, and HGV cabins straight out of the box. The wide 9-30V DC input handles 12V and 24V vehicle electrical without a separate converter.

Where it fits

This is the right router when you need a robust 4G LTE link in a constrained physical space. Fleet vehicles where the router needs to disappear into the dash. CCTV systems on remote sites with no fixed line. Digital signage networks at retail. Pop-up sites at events and broadcast support. Mobile command posts where 4G coverage is good but 5G isn't deployed yet. Anywhere a single SIM with proper enterprise routing, SpeedFusion failover, and cloud management is enough.

For sites that need 5G or higher cellular bandwidth, look at the BR1 Mini 5G or BR1 Pro 5G. For sites needing dual-modem cellular resilience, the BR1 Mini Core to BR2 Pro range covers the spectrum. The BR1 Mini stays the right call when 4G LTE is sufficient and size matters.

FAQ

Why pick BR1 Mini over BR1 Mini 5G? Cost and footprint. The BR1 Mini LTE is the right call when 4G coverage is good at the deployment site and 5G isn't justified. The BR1 Mini 5G adds 5G NR support but at a higher price point. For fleet and CCTV where the link is mostly for telemetry, dashcam upload, or remote management, BR1 Mini LTE is usually enough.

Does it work with FirstNet or specific UK carriers? The LTE-E variant covers UK and EU LTE bands fully (B1, B3, B7, B8, B20, B28 etc). For US carrier certifications including FirstNet, look at the LTE-US variant instead. Specify your region at checkout. We ship LTE-E to UK/EU, LTE-US to US/Canada, and LTE-MX to Latin America.

Can I bond the cellular link with another WAN? Yes. SpeedFusion bonds the cellular link with Ethernet WAN or Wi-Fi as WAN for hot failover, bandwidth bonding, or WAN smoothing. SpeedFusion peer count depends on the PrimeCare tier; default 1 peer with the bundled subscription.

What's PrimeCare? A 1-year PrimeCare subscription is bundled with every BR1 Mini. It unlocks SpeedFusion peers, warranty extension, InControl 2 cloud management, and firmware support. Renewals available as 1, 2, or 4-year extensions.

Will it survive vehicle vibration? Yes. EN 61373 (rolling stock vibration and shock) and EN 50155 (rolling stock electronic equipment) are certified. We've deployed BR1 Mini in HGVs, buses, and rail rolling stock without vibration-related failures.
