Field-installable embedded LTE-A Cat-12 cellular modem for the Balance 580X HW2 FlexModule Mini bay
The right cellular module when 5G isn't justified
The Peplink FlexModule Mini LTEA Cat-12 is a hot-swappable cellular module that drops into the FlexModule Mini bay on the Balance 580X HW2 (and other compatible Peplink hardware with a Mini bay). LTE-Advanced Cat-12 modem with 600 Mbps theoretical downlink across 3-carrier aggregation; in real-world UK 4G mid-band coverage that translates to 200-400 Mbps consistent throughput. The right call for sites where 5G isn't deployed locally, 5G coverage is unreliable, or the cellular path is for failover only and Cat-12 is sufficient. SKU EXM-MINI-1LTEA-Q.
For the FlexModule Mini architecture context (how the bay works, how field-installation goes, why FlexModule exists at all), see the FlexModule Mini 5G page; this listing covers the LTEA Cat-12 alternative.

Where it fits
Branch sites in regions where UK or EU 4G coverage is good but 5G hasn't rolled out yet. Backup-only cellular paths where 200-400 Mbps consistent throughput is plenty (cellular fails over from fibre primary). Mid-budget enterprise deployments wanting cellular resilience without paying the 5G premium. Marine and rural deployments where 4G coverage is universal but 5G is rare.
