The Peplink FlexModule Plus 2x LTEA Cat-20 is the premium 4G dual-cellular expansion module for SDX-class FlexModule Plus bays. Two embedded LTE-A Cat-20 modems with 5-carrier aggregation, 2 Gbps theoretical DL per modem (600-900 Mbps real-world), hot-swappable into any Balance SDX, SDX Pro, or EPX-M8 chassis. The right choice when 5G isn't deployed at the deployment site, when carrier 5G plan economics don't justify the upgrade, or when Cat-20 LTE-A delivers all the cellular bandwidth required. When to pick LTEA Cat-20 over 5G
- 5G coverage isn't deployed at the site. Most rural enterprise sites and many marine/offshore operating areas.
- Carrier 5G plan pricing isn't justified for the typical workload.
- Real-world 600-900 Mbps cellular is sufficient (most enterprise WAN: yes).
- Mixed deployments where some FlexModule Plus bays carry 5G and others carry LTEA Cat-20 for tiered cellular cost.
