The dome we put on roofs, masts, and rolling stock
The MAX HD1 Dome Pro 5G is a complete outdoor 5G router in a single weatherproof dome. IP67 rated for permanent outdoor exposure. 4x4 internal MIMO cellular antennas, 2x2 internal Wi-Fi antennas, and an internal GPS receiver are all built into the dome enclosure, eliminating the cable loss that wrecks throughput on conventional cellular installs. The 5G modem with redundant SIM slots gets the antennas it deserves: short internal feed, no weatherproofing penalty, no cable runs across a vehicle roof.
Compact at 110 mm radius x 115 mm height, weighing 1.2 kg without the Ethernet splitter or 1.7 kg with it. Powered by 802.3at PoE+, or 802.3af PoE with the included Ethernet splitter. The single Gigabit Ethernet uplink keeps the install simple: one cable does data and power. -40 to +65°C operating range and EN 50155 railway rolling stock certification mean it goes on trains, transit buses, vessel masts, and rooftop fixed-site deployments without compromise.

Where it fits
This is the right call for outdoor 5G connectivity that has to survive: rail rolling stock (EN 50155 certified), commercial transit buses with rooftop mounting, vessel masts with no internal cable run options, fixed-site rooftop deployments where a separate router cabinet is impractical, agricultural and construction site cabins, mobile command posts. Anywhere the alternative would be a separate cellular router plus an outdoor antenna with a 5+ metre cable run, with all the throughput loss that implies.
For deployments where the router can live indoors with a separate antenna, the BR1 Pro 5G plus an Antenna MAX is more flexible. For dual-5G mobile use, the BR2 Pro 5G is the better answer. Pick HD1 Dome Pro when the outdoor integration matters more than dual modems.
EN 50155 railway certification
The HD1 Dome Pro 5G is certified to EN 50155 (rolling stock electronic equipment), EN 50124-1 (railway insulation coordination), and EN 61000 (electromagnetic compatibility). This makes it directly approvable for rail rolling stock deployment without a separate enclosure or certification process. Combined with PoE power and the integrated antennas, the install is a single cable run from a PoE+ switch in the carriage to the dome on the roof.
What's in the box
- 1 x MAX HD1 Dome Pro 5G
- 1 x Ethernet splitter (for 802.3af PoE compatibility)

PoE+ injector and Ethernet cabling are sold separately. Most installs use the existing PoE switch infrastructure.
FAQ
Why is the price not shown? The HD1 Dome Pro 5G is one of our outdoor SKUs where mounting, cabling, and deployment context drive significant variation. We price these through our Peplink Gold Partner channel for accurate trade pricing. Same-day quotes via the contact page or +44 (0)1788 550000.
Are the cellular antennas really inside the dome? Yes. 4x4 MIMO cellular antennas are integrated into the dome enclosure with optimal positioning for 360-degree coverage. The whole point of the design is to eliminate the cable loss between an external antenna and an indoor router; the dome puts both in the same housing.
Can I add external antennas? No. The dome's antennas are internal-only. If you need a deployment with separate external antennas (for example, on a vessel where the main antenna sits high on the mast and the router lives in a cabin), use the BR1 Pro 5G with the Antenna MAX or the Mobility 42G instead.
Does it support 5G C-band and SA mode? Yes. The 5G NR modem covers C-band (3.3-4.2 GHz) and 5G SA mode where carriers have rolled it out. NSA fallback is automatic.
What does the Ethernet splitter do? It allows the dome to be powered from 802.3af PoE infrastructure (older switches) instead of 802.3at PoE+. It splits the data and power signals at the dome end. With 802.3at PoE+ the splitter isn't needed and the install is a single cable straight to the dome.
Will it survive UK winters? Yes. -40 to +65°C operating range covers any UK weather extreme by a wide margin. We've deployed HD1 Dome Pro on UK rooftops, vehicle roofs, and rolling stock through multiple winter seasons without issue.
