7-in-1 mobile antenna with 4x4 LTE/5G MIMO, dual-band Wi-Fi, and GPS
The Peplink Mobility 42G is the workhorse antenna we specify on more vehicle, vessel, and rooftop installs than any other. Inside one IP68 enclosure: four 5G/LTE elements for 4x4 MIMO bonding, two dual-band Wi-Fi elements (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), and one high-sensitivity GPS receiver. Wide-band coverage from 600 to 6000 MHz captures every commercial cellular band including B71, C-band (3.3 - 4.2 GHz), and the 5G NR mid-band tier where most UK and EU networks now sit.
Built for the field, not the lab
The 42G housing is rated IP68 for permanent outdoor exposure: rain, salt spray, dust, UV, the lot. Low-profile black or white finish (this listing is the black variant). Drilled, panel, wall or pole mounted with the right adapter. The 6.5 ft / 2 m cable run is the standard length we ship for fleet installations and roof-mount fixed deployments. For longer runs, look at the 16 ft variant (white only) or use QMA pigtails plus an EXC-SQ-15 extension cable to keep insertion loss low.
The 8.2 dBi peak gain on the LTE/5G elements gives a real-world performance lift in marginal coverage areas, and the 4x4 MIMO architecture is what unlocks the high-throughput potential of MAX BR1 Pro 5G, MAX BR2 Pro 5G, MAX Transit Pro E, and any other 4x4-capable Peplink router. Pair it with anything less than 4 cellular ports and you'll only use part of its capability.

Where it fits
This is the antenna we put on broadcast OB vans, on emergency response vehicles, on transit buses bonding multiple SIMs for passenger Wi-Fi, on vessel masts and antenna arches, on commercial rooftops feeding fixed-site cellular failover. Anywhere you need a single antenna housing to handle cellular, Wi-Fi, and GPS without compromising on any of the three. For installs that need separate cellular and Wi-Fi mounting points, or where Wi-Fi is handled by a dedicated AP, look at the Mobility 40G (4x cellular plus GPS, no Wi-Fi).
Recommended add-ons
- ACW-882: Stainless steel L-mount specifically for the Mobility 42G; the right call for marine and high-vibration installs
- ACW-661: 3M double-sided adhesive antenna mounting gasket; surface-mount without drilling
- ACW-881 / ACW-884: Wall and pole L-mount kits, white and black
- ACW-651 / ACW-653: Maritime adapters for 1 inch 14TPI and 1 1/4 inch 11TPI mounting threads
FAQ
What's the difference between -B-1, -B-6 and -W-16? The third group in the SKU is the cable length. -1 = 1 ft / 0.3 m pigtail, -6 = 6.5 ft / 2 m (this listing), -16 = 16 ft / 4.8 m (white only). Choose by run distance from antenna mount point to router. Long runs over 4 m should use a QMA-terminated pigtail (Q-prefix variant) plus an EXC-SQ-15 extension to minimise insertion loss.
Does it support 4x4 MIMO 5G? Yes. The 42G has four discrete 5G/LTE elements with cross-polarisation, designed specifically for 4x4 MIMO bonding on routers like the BR1 Pro 5G, BR2 Pro 5G, and Balance 310X 5G. C-band (3.3 - 4.2 GHz) coverage is included.
Will it work with non-Peplink routers? Yes. The 42G uses standard SMA male (cellular and GPS) and RP-SMA male (Wi-Fi) connectors. It will work with any router that uses those connector standards. We've installed them on Cradlepoint and Sierra Wireless gear without issue.
Can I paint it? Yes, but only with non-metallic, non-conductive paint. Metallic particles will degrade the antenna's performance significantly. Avoid conductive polymers and most automotive paints. Standard acrylic or non-metallic spray paints are fine.
How do I mount it on a boat? The 42G has an M16 mounting thread on the base. The ACW-651 adapts it to a 1 inch 14TPI female fitting (the most common UK and US marine mast standard) and the ACW-653 adapts it to 1 1/4 inch 11TPI. Pair either with the ACW-882 stainless steel L-mount for the most durable marine install.
