When does the extension start?

PrimeCare extensions activate at the end of the current care plan term, providing continuous coverage. Stack multiple terms for longer protection.

Is this the right tier for my router?

PrimeCare A applies to entry-level routers (B One, BR1 Mini, AP One); B/C to mid-tier (Balance 310, BR2, Transit); D/E to flagship enterprise (HD MBX, SDX); J/K/P to top-tier (EPX, SDX Pro, Balance 5000 EC). Check the title and the product spec for compatibility.

After purchase, the licence key is delivered by email. Apply it via InControl 2 cloud against your router's serial number. The extension activates immediately.

Can I transfer it to another router?

PrimeCare licences are tied to the router's serial number and are non-transferrable. Always verify your router serial before purchasing.

What happens if I let it lapse?

Cloud management features and SpeedFusion will continue working but you lose access to firmware updates, advance RMA, and engineering support. Reactivation is possible but will be charged from the end of the original cover.

1-Year PrimeCare J extension for flagship enterprise Peplink hardware

PrimeCare J renews the bundled service subscription on Peplink's flagship enterprise routers for 12 months from activation. Without an active PrimeCare J subscription, hardware still routes traffic but loses InControl 2 cloud management, SpeedFusion peer entitlement, FusionHub licences, and the bonding/failover features that justify the enterprise platform. PrimeCare J is the right tier for Balance 580X HW2 and similar flagship-class hardware.

Balance 580X HW2 (BPL-580X-PRM, the 1U flagship enterprise SD-WAN router)
Balance 1350 series
MAX BR2 IP55 / MBX series
Other flagship-class hardware as per product page

The router's product page lists the correct tier letter under "Recommended add-ons". For Balance 580X HW2, that tier letter is J. InControl 2 validates the activation key against the device serial; buying the wrong tier won't activate.

How activation works

You buy this PrimeCare J 1-Year extension. We email the activation key after order processing.
Log in to InControl 2 and apply the activation key against the target Balance 580X serial number.
The 12-month period starts from the activation date. Extensions stack with existing cover.

Multi-year savings

For longer cover, 2-year (PRM-J-2Y, £1,138) and 4-year (PRM-J-4Y, £2,276) extensions price at flat multiples. Almost every enterprise customer buys 4-year cover to align with hardware refresh cycles, lock in current pricing, and remove annual renewal admin from the calendar.

HA pair pricing

Each Balance 580X in an HA pair needs its own PrimeCare J subscription. For a primary plus standby pair on 4-year cover, that's two PRM-J-4Y entitlements. The Tech Factory quotes pair-bundles with reduced administration overhead.

Regular PrimeCare J suits SME enterprise where business-hours support is sufficient.
