The 5G enterprise router we put on the front of demanding sites
The Balance 310X 5G sits at the high end of the Balance range: 2.5 Gbps router throughput, 5G CAT-20 with redundant SIMs, two GbE WAN, two USB 2.0 WAN, nine GbE LAN, and SpeedFusion VPN with 600 Mbps unencrypted or 500 Mbps with 256-bit AES. Designed for the 50-500 user environment where multi-gigabit fixed lines, Starlink, and 5G all need to be bonded into a single resilient pipe. Rack or desk mount; -40 to +65°C operating range so it goes in unconditioned cabinets without complaint.
The defining feature is the embedded 5G modem with CAT-20 LTE fallback. 3.4 Gbps downlink on 5G, 1.6 Gbps on CAT-20 LTE. Combined with SpeedFusion, this is a router that doesn't drop. Two SIM slots take primary and secondary networks, BYO eSIM is supported, and InControl 2 cloud management drives the whole estate from one dashboard.

Where it fits
The 310X 5G is the right call for sites where downtime cost is measured per minute: regional offices, broadcast facilities, financial trading floors, healthcare clinics with cloud PACS, retail headquarters with cloud-only ERP. Also the right answer for fixed-site sites with rural fibre that drops occasionally and needs 5G as a working backup, not a token gesture. The 50-500 user envelope and 2.5 Gbps router throughput give plenty of headroom for the next 3-5 years even as multi-gig fibre rolls out further.
For sites under 150 users, the B One 5G or B One Plus is a more proportional fit. For sites over 500 users or anywhere PrimeCare-grade SDX features matter, look at the Balance SDX or SDX Pro instead.

FAQ
Why is the price not shown? The Balance 310X 5G is one of our enterprise SKUs where pricing varies by configuration, deployment context, and SpeedFusion peer count. We price these directly through our Peplink Gold Partner channel for accurate trade pricing, lead times, and any bundled engineering. Same-day quotes via the contact page or +44 (0)1788 550000.
Does it actually do 2.5 Gbps router throughput? Yes, on TCP traffic with hardware acceleration enabled. Real-world deployments routinely measure 2.0-2.4 Gbps end-to-end. Note that this is router throughput, not cellular link rate; 5G CAT-20 modem can deliver up to 3.4 Gbps but you'd need a 2.5G or 10G LAN to consume that fully.
Will it work with Starlink? Yes. Plug Starlink into one of the Ethernet WAN ports. With SpeedFusion you can bond Starlink, fibre, and 5G into a single resilient path with hot failover. We've deployed this exact stack across maritime, broadcast, and remote operational sites.
What's PrimeCare? A 1-year PrimeCare subscription is bundled. It unlocks SpeedFusion peers (default 2, up to 20), warranty extension, InControl 2 cloud management, and firmware support. Renewals available as 1, 2, or 4-year extensions.
Does it support 5G mid-band C-band? Yes. The 310X 5G covers the 3.3-4.2 GHz C-band tier where most UK and EU 5G mid-band sits, in addition to low-band and high-band coverage.
How does the 50-500 user count work? That's the recommended concurrent user envelope across all WAN paths and all interfaces. Real performance depends on traffic mix; light cloud productivity and email scales further, heavy video conferencing closer to the lower end.
